Serena Ng is a product-obsessed designer who believes good design is never finished. She currently works on patient experience and AI workflows at Epic Systems, and previously designed for Ronik Design Agency, Snyk, JFK Airport, and Reuters.

She has worn a lot of hats, including product research, UX/UI, visual design, development, and marketing, and has worked shoulder-to-shoulder with engineers, marketers, and clients across startups and agencies. She believes the best solutions rarely stay inside one discipline, and cares most about solving the right problem: the one with the most impact, and the one that holds up as the product grows.

Epic Systems — User Experience Quality Manager, Software R&D (2025 – 2026)

• Removed MyChart Bedside's #1 adoption barrier by prompt-engineering an AI agent to auto-map configurations, and designing a human-in-the-loop confirmation workflow so analysts could trust its output, increasing adoption 30%
• Built a validation framework to QA the AI agent across 1,000+ real and edge-case scenarios, reaching a 97% AI mapping success rate
• Designed a MyChart lab result time estimate feature and prototyped it with Anthropic Claude, giving patients visibility into their visit
• Created a 0→1 Trauma Score calculator that turns a time-critical scoring protocol into a live workflow pre-populated with vitals and chart data
• Caught a color-accessibility gap that kept clinicians from distinguishing patient acuity, owned the safety escalation, and shipped a fix in 3 days

Ronik Design Agency — UX Designer (2024)

• 1 of 3 designers at a design agency, owning projects end-to-end as sole or lead designer for 10+ clients including Reuters, Ogilvy, Ecolab, and PGIM
• Created a 0→1 security dashboard (desktop & mobile) for JFK Airport T4, replacing an email-based process for 7K+ monthly security vetting requests
• Built a 50+ component Figma design system to scale the JFK dashboard
• Redesigned login and signup for NBCUniversal Together, a B2B advertiser portal, making key actions easier to find and cutting user error 70%
• Designed and built a responsive infographic microsite (desktop & mobile) for Reuters and Ecolab with 30+ data visualizations and 15+ animated elements

Serena designed this portfolio in Figma, then built it with Anthropic's Claude — working iteratively in conversation to turn the designs into a live, responsive site — and deployed it herself through GitHub Pages on a custom domain.

• Built as a single-page React app, with every page, interaction, and animation directed by Serena and implemented with Claude
• Fully responsive, with dedicated mobile patterns: a bottom section nav with scroll progress, floating back buttons, and swipe gestures in galleries and book flippers
• Dark mode that follows the visitor's device setting, with a manual toggle and a radial transition that expands from the toggle
• Interactive details including a hover-to-reveal project preview panel, an animated journey timeline, a flippable book viewer, a fun-fact bubble, and a full-screen gallery slideshow
• Performance work for slow connections: compressed images and videos, lazy loading, and fade-in on load
• Made readable by AI tools and search engines: plain-text versions of every page, structured profile data, a sitemap, and an llms.txt summary
• Old portfolio URLs automatically redirect to their new pages, with a custom 404 page listing current links
